How long have you been trading and how did you start?

In total, I started trading over 10 years ago, with many ups and downs. But it was in the last year that everything started to come together in my trading and I started winning consistently.

What was the most valuable lesson you learnt while trading?

I think the most valuable lesson is the one I've learned the hard way: never ever risk more than you can afford to lose. Always try to protect your money first and then think about how to grow it. Never the opposite. It's a lesson I learned by blowing my accounts many times in the past, and it's a lesson I always try to pass on to young traders. 

What qualities or habits do you think are essential for a trader?

Perseverance through tough times. Losses will come, but you need to keep trusting your strategy.  Patience is always important as well. Never forget the ultimate goal.

Describe your best trade so far: which instrument, strategy and profit did you make?

I think I had many good trades during December. I mostly trade gold. My strategy is a combination of breakouts of major support and resistance, with some mean reversion. I cannot recall one trade in particular.
